1-This monument lies at the foot of Pyramid 5, and it is a great
example of the Classic Veracruz style. It depicts the death-god,
another fascination of the El Tajinos. He is emerging from an interlaced
scrollwork.
Due to the abundance of death-god imagery at El Tajin, it is assumed
that he was an important deity at the city. He was the lord that
ruled over the land of the dead. He recieved those who had been
sacrificed at the many ballcourts at the site.
